KAGAMA
Universitas Gadjah Mada has an alumni association called “Keluarga Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA)”. KAGAMA is an organization that gathers UGM alumni as a form of dedication to the nation and state. This organization was officially established on December 18th, 1958 in Yogyakarta to coincide with the UGM Anniversary after a series of meetings and deliberations of alumni since 1956. The main purpose of KAGAMA is to contribute to solve various national problems, in line with the spirit of the founders of UGM as the first university after Indonesian independence. From the beginning, KAGAMA was designed as an organization that promotes the spirit of unity, innovation, and community service.
KAGAMA’s vision and mission are in line with UGM, which is to become a modern, innovative, and superior alumni organization, while still based on the values of Pancasila. KAGAMA is committed to supporting national development through strengthening independence, leadership, and national commitment. KAGAMA’s work does not only focus on the alumni network, but also on preserving the nation’s culture, developing national insight, and real contribution in solving social and economic problems faced by Indonesian society.
This organization was founded by the first generation of UGM alumni to contribute in solving various national problems. KAGAMA has a vision in line with UGM, which is to become a modern organization that is innovative, superior, and serves the nation and humanity based on the values of Pancasila.
