The Master’s Program in Food Science and Technology (MFST), Universitas Gadjah Mada, proudly celebrated the graduation of eight students during the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony Period IV of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Each graduate completed their academic journey with notable achievements and inspiring stories along the way.
In this period, MFST graduated eight students with several outstanding accomplishments. Yuniar Wika Perdana Putri achieved the highest GPA at the master’s level with a perfect 4.00, completing her studies in 1 year and 10 months. Meanwhile, Zahva Shivany Imanul Kamil stood out as the fastest graduate, finishing her studies in just 1 year and 4 months.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology emphasized that graduation is the result of hard work, perseverance, family support, as well as guidance from lecturers and educational staff. He also expressed hope that graduates will not only excel academically but also uphold integrity, build strong collaborations, and create innovations that bring real impact to society.
The event continued with a sharing session, providing a space for graduates and their families to exchange experiences, share impressions, and offer feedback to support the continuous improvement of postgraduate education at FTP UGM.
Representing the MFST graduates, Yuniar Wika Perdana Putri shared that the learning experience in the program provided students with plenty of opportunities to grow and develop. She highlighted the supportive environment, where lecturers are approachable and open to discussion, and the courses offered are relevant to the competencies needed in the field.
Another inspiring story came from Shafira Putri Damayanti, who successfully completed her studies while facing serious health challenges. During her academic journey, she underwent several intensive treatments. She expressed that the support from the program management and lecturers played a crucial role in helping her persevere and eventually complete her studies.
“Alhamdulillah, I made it to this point. Thank you to all the lecturers and program team who supported me throughout my study,” she said.
Family support also played a significant role in the students’ success. The parent of Zahva Shivany Imanul Kamil expressed gratitude to the entire academic community of FTP UGM for guiding their daughter to complete her studies in a relatively short time and graduate with cum laude honors.
This graduation marks not only the end of an academic journey but also the beginning of a new chapter for the graduates as they apply their knowledge in society. Equipped with competencies in food science and technology, MFST UGM graduates are expected to contribute to the development of safe, high-quality, innovative, and sustainable food systems.
This activity also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, through the implementation of inclusive higher education and the development of competent and integrity-driven human resources.
