The Master’s Program in Food Science and Technology (MFST), Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FTP UGM), held a Farewell Ceremony for its graduates of Period II January 2026 on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, at the Kamarijani-Soenjoto Auditorium, FTP UGM. The event marked the successful completion of master’s studies by five MFST graduates.
The ceremony was attended by faculty leaders, academic and administrative staff, graduates, and their families. The Dean of FTP UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eni Harmayani, M.Sc., delivered a welcoming address, congratulating the graduates and encouraging them to continue developing their competencies and contributing positively to society.
In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eni Harmayani, M.Sc. highlighted the importance of lifelong learning, adaptability, and personal integrity. She emphasized that graduates are expected to apply their knowledge for the benefit of their communities while upholding professionalism, ethical conduct, and humility in their future careers.
This graduation period also recorded notable academic achievements. The fastest graduates were Amirah Ulfah, S.T.P., M.Sc., and Mina Parhatus Salamah, S.T.P., M.Sc., who completed their studies in 1 year, 10 months, and 6 days. The cum laude distinction was awarded to Amirah Ulfah, S.T.P., M.Sc. (GPA 3.90) and Mina Parhatus Salamah, S.T.P., M.Sc. (GPA 3.80).
The program continued with a reflection and sharing session moderated by Rachma Wikandari, S.T.P., M.Biotech., Ph.D., during which graduates shared their academic experiences. One representative expressed appreciation for the academic and institutional support provided by FTP UGM, including opportunities for international exposure at the University of Cadiz, Spain, as well as social support extended during the flood disaster in Aceh, the hometown of one of the graduates.
Representatives of the graduates’ families also conveyed their appreciation to the lecturers, staff, and the entire academic community of FTP UGM for fostering a supportive and conducive learning environment. Such support was considered essential in enabling students to complete their studies with strong academic outcomes and meaningful learning experiences.
Through this farewell ceremony, the Master’s Program in Food Science and Technology of FTP UGM reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who uphold academic excellence, professionalism, and integrity, and who are prepared to contribute to the advancement of food science and agricultural technology at national and global levels.
